PHOENIX -- The Heard Museum, the Valley's oldest private museum (1929), is home to an internationally famous collection - 40,000 items - with an emphasis on American Indian art, culture and history.

While it's hot outside during our Phoenix summers, inside the museum we keep the temperature at 72 degrees, which helps preserve some of our oldest and most delicate pieces of art. It also made the Heard a wonderfully cool -- in every sense of the word -- destination for families.

Adding to the cool factor is the free admission for the next three Sundays courtesy of Target. (This does not include the Lego exhibit. A $5 gate fee per person is charged to non-museum members who wish to visit "BUILD! Toy Brick Art at the Heard.")
