PHOENIX – It’s not often that you can preview a fashion designer’s latest collection, but that’s exactly what’s happening this weekend at Priscilla of Boston Salon. They're hosting a Vera Wang trunk show, feature the famous designer's latest wedding dresses.
Salon director Michelle Nye stopped by 3TV’s studio to give Kaley O’Kelley a sneak peek at Wang’s stunning wedding creations.
Not only were all of the gowns ivory, as opposed to white, they also feature a hot trend.
“Belts are very much in this season,” Nye explained.
The first dress Nye featured was the Fiona, which is a strapless, fit-to-flair mermaid, floor-length gown with tulle detailing on the bottom.
Next up was the Diana, a flowy, princess-like gown.
“This is definitely your ‘wow’ dress,” Nye said.
The Diana is an A-line, floor-length gown that features a soft sweetheart neckline and organza detailing on the bottom.
Next up was a tiered organza gown that goes all the way to the floor in a modified A-line, followed by a ball gown with a soft tufted skirt and a corsage belt.
The final dress on the GMAZ runway was a more traditional gown with a vogue flair. The Emmeline features an illusion corset top, hand-painted appliqués on the organza lining, and a grosgrain sash at the waist.
No matter what kind of gown you select, Nye has some advice for all brides.
“You want to wear the dress,” she said. “You do not want the dress to wear you. That is most important.”
