PEORIA, Ariz. -- With the temperatures heating up, everyone's looking for a way to stay cool.
Now, residents of Peoria have a new option, as the Pioneer Community Park opens near 83rd Avenue and Olive.
The 83-acre park includes a great new splash pad for the kids. "We also have our playground, which is covered fully with shade structures," says Jake Eason with the City of Peoria.
Park amenities also include:
- Six ball fields
- Concessions area
- Four lighted multipurpose fields
- Dog park
- Lake with catch-and-keep fishing
- Picnic ramadas with grills
- Playground/swing sets
- Heritage Garden for small events
Pioneer Community Park is located at 8755 N. 83rd Avenue. It's the city’s sixth park to be constructed since 2011.
