PHOENIX -- Comedian Carlos Mencia kept Javier Soto and the rest of the Good Morning Arizona crew in stitches Thursday morning.
Mencia is one of today’s most popular entertainers and comics, known for his man-on-the-street interviews, studio comedy, and commercial parodies. And now he's bringing his talents and humor to StandUp Live in Phoenix for a run of performances this Thursday through Sunday.
"I love stand up," Mencia tells us. "I love to be able to talk about whatever's going on in the world."
Mencia was raised in Los Angeles and is the 17th of 18 children. His huge family is often fodder for his comedy.
"My parents had a lot of kids because we're all workers. We're all lottery tickets," he jokes. "They had a lot of kids and raised all of us to believe that if any of us made money, we had to share it. And I'm the one!"
You can catch Mencia's act this weekend during his run at StandUp Live here in Phoenix.
Shows start Thursday evening and run through Sunday. You can visit his website for showtimes and tickets.
