GLENDALE, Ariz. -- There are still about 160 days until Christmas, but some of us can't wait that long. If you go to Glendale this weekend, you won't have to.
For the seventh year in a row, Glendale's historic district will be hosting Christmas in July. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, visitors will be able to get early Christmas shopping done, make crafts, enjoy eggnog, listen to Christmas music and even visit Santa.
The event also encourages the season of giving. Visitors can bring non-perishable food items for Hope for Hunger, as donations tend to slow down during the summertime.
At 5 p.m., Glendale Old Towne Cruise and Car Show is having a benefit for the families of the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots who died in the Yarnell Hill Fire. All the money will go to charities to help them.
Admission and parking are free, including free covered parking located in the Palmaire Parking Garage at 58th Drive and Palmaire.
It is suggested that guests start at the Visitor Center to pick up a map and explore.
