PHOENIX -- It's almost time to start thinking about football again! And what better way to do that than with a giant tailgating party?

Thousands of folks are expected to enjoy the cooler weather this weekend at the fourth annual Fry's Big Red Rib & Music Festival. The event takes place Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the Great Lawn at University of Phoenix Stadium.

The four-day festival features:
-Live music from national headlining acts "Kool & The Gang" and "Morris Day & The Time"
-Seven award-winning rib masters from around the country
-A Kid's Interactive Zone featuring combine activities and inflatables
-Amusement rides and carnival games for kids of all ages.

A big attraction will definitely be some of the great food. John Apelt of Texas Thunder BBQ had some tips on making delicious ribs. "Cook them nice and slow," he advises. "Cook them with a smoker, if you have a smoker." He also says you should add the sauce just as you're about to finish off the ribs on the grill.

The whole family will find plenty to do at the festival. The rides are sure to be a big attractions.

"We have 14 rides here and 10 games," says Ken Bennett, who is in charge of all the rides. "The 'Gee Whiz' down at the end is one of our premier rides. It's a light show; it's a music thing. It's a lot of fun."

Here are some highlights of the festival.
Friday, April 25 - BEATLEMANIA LIVE!
Beatlemania Live! will perform over 35 of your favorite songs with four complete, authentic costume changes to accompany the music from every memorable era: Ed Sullivan, Shea Stadium, Sgt. Pepper, and Abbey Road.

Local bands will play during the day and Morris Day & The Time and Kool & The Gang will perform as the headliners at night. Kool & The Gang has sold over 70 million albums worldwide and influenced the music of three generations while performing continuously for the past 35 years, longer than any R&B group in history.
