Located at 13401 North Cave Creek Road in Phoenix, the 11,000-square-foot store is located in a popular area for thrift shoppers and will house clothing, furniture, household items and a variety of treasures at bargain prices.
The store's grand opening is Saturday, March 15 and will offer 50 percent off all items.
The store is expected to generate $175,000 a year in net revenue by 2016 to help save the lives of homeless animals.
AHS relies on its thrift stores for increased revenue to help care for the more than 43,000 animals it takes in each year.
AHS' first thrift store opened in 1963 and operated as AHS' only thrift location until the Tempe Thrift Store debuted in November of 2011.
Just this past July, AHS' largest thrift store located at 43rd Avenue and Camelback Road opened.
The success of all stores, along with a commitment to diversify revenue streams in an effort to ensure the fiscal health of our nonprofit organization and the animals in our care, provided AHS the opportunity to build on this successful business model.
As a nonprofit organization, all purchases are tax-free and proceeds from thrift store sales help support the lifesaving programs and services that benefit the animals in AHS' care. Individuals can also make a difference in the life of homeless pets by donating items to AHS' thrift stores.
AHS is always in need of new or gently-used donated items such as furniture, clothes and household items to help fill our four thrift stores. Free pick up is available by calling 480.290.0587 or emailing email@example.com. Two boxes or two bags minimum, please.
