PHOENIX -- Every summer, Arizona's cool-weather getaways face the possibility of devastation by wildfires.
Last summer, the Wallow Fire, the largest fire in state history, torched hundreds of thousands of acre in the White Mountains of eastern Arizona. Residents and business owners alike have been trying to pick up the pieces ever since.
Arizona Highways editor-in-chief said this month's magazine is designed to show us desert dwellers that not everything was burning and that there is still a lot to see and do in the White Mountains.
