PHOENIX -- The weather here in Phoenix may be beautiful this week, but it won't be long before things start heating up.
Lucky for us, the latest issue of Arizona Highways magazine has some great suggestions about places to go around our state to beat the heat, and see some picturesque sights.
The magazine's editor-in-chief Robert Stieve sat down with Javier Soto on Tuesday's Good Morning Arizona with a list of good ideas.
His first suggestion is the North Rim of the Canyon. "For me, there's really no better place than the North Rim of the Grand Canyon," Stieve says. "A lot of people head to the South Rim and it's spectacular, but the North Rim is a little quieter, not as much traffic up there, and the scenery is beautiful."
Stieve also suggests DeMotte Park, located in the Kaibab National Forest. In addition, he likes Jacob Lake and Steamboat Mountain, specifically North Timp Point.
"This is at the end of a trail,or a drive," he says," It's a remote, unique spot, but it's easy to get to."
The May issue of Arizona Highways is on newsstands now.
