PHOENIX -- While you can feed the stingrays at Phoenix Zoo's Stingray Bay, 3TV's April Warnecke had the opportunity to actually get in the water with them.
With tall fishing boots on, she was a little nervous, but the stingrays weren't shy and kept swimming close to check out their new friend.
Stingray keeper Jan Piling was also in the water, offering the rays some tasty tidbits. (She was wearing shorts and flip-flops, by the way.)
The cownose stingrays used to be seasonal visitors -- snow rays, if you will -- but now they will be calling the Phoenix Zoo home all year long.
