PHOENIX – In a competition involving more than 70,000 students from all over the country, a group from Arizona State University came out on top. “Team Note-Taker” placed first in the Microsoft Imagine Cup national finals in Seattle earlier this week.
The competition challenges students to use technology to solve problems in society.
The Note-Taker project is designed to help low-vision and legally blind students take notes in class.
Kaley O’Kelley introduced us to the winning team and their captain, Dave Hayden. The prototype the team developed has roots in Hayden’s own experience.
The Imagine Cup is the No. 1 student technology competition in the world.
Team Note-Taker will be heading to New York to represent the U.S. in the world finals in July.More than 70 countries will compete in that event.
