PHOENIX -- Since it's formal admission into the union 100 year ago today, Arizona has been known for the 5 Cs: copper, climate, citrus, cattle and cotton. In honor of Arizona’s 100th birthday, chef from all over the state say it's time to initiate the sixth C: culinary.

To that end, a unique team put together an amazing cookbook -- "100 Years, 100 Chefs, 00 Recipes."

"Designated as an official Arizona Centennial Legacy Project by the Arizona Historical Advisory Commission (AHAC), '100 Years, 100 Chefs, 100 Recipes' acknowledges the culinary prowess that Arizona has harnessed over the past 100 years," reads the Facebook page created for the project. "It is a collection of recipes from Arizona’s James Beard award winning chefs, mom-and-pop chefs, old-time favorite restaurants, and all the passionate professionals who have contributed to our state’s flavors."

Executive Chef Lee Hilson of T. Cooks at Royal Palms Resort and Spa made one of those 100 recipes -- Mediterranean Paella.

"100 Years, 100 Chefs, 100 Recipes" is available at www.100years100chefs100recipes.com. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/100years100chefs100recipes or call 602-222-DINE (3463).
