Renee Defeo

My name is Renee Defeo, I am a 34-year-old woman living in Chandler Arizona. I am originally from Boston Mass., and moved to Arizona in 1993. I met my husband, Rodney Kinney in 1996 and we got married in 2002. We had a wonderful wedding at the Historical Old North Church in Boston. We have a sweet Basenji mix dog named Serena, who we saved through RESCUE. I have a BS degree in Plastics Engineering and also obtained my MBA in 2002. My absolute favorite thing to do is travel. I hope to be able to travel all over the world during my lifetime. I am currently an engineer working for Intel. I am extremely ready for a life change and being selected for this challenge is a fantastic opportunity, which I am ready and willing to take head-on.

I have always been athletic and active through out my life. I played sports all through high school and I love all types of activities especially trying new things. While I have always struggled with weight throughout my life, I have been overweight now for a few years and have tried many different diets without any continued success. I have had temporary success with some, but have not managed to stay on track or motivated to maintain the results and practices. Some of the MANY diets and programs I have tried include Body for Life, The Zone, eDiets, Atkins, South Beach Diet, Prevention Diets, Self Magazine Diets and others that I don’t even know the name of. One of the more costly programs that I attempted was through a local weight-loss clinic two separate times.

I have not been very successful in any of these diet attempts for various reasons, but the biggest being lack of education, motivation, coaching and accountability. I have not had the motivation to continue and stick with a program to the end and I have not had the proper coaching to help guide & me to success. I think this Weight Loss Challenge can provide me with the tools I need to be more successful, healthier, happier and overall well rounded person which I have been searching to be, physically and mentally for a long time.
