DALLAS — Fire broke out above the stage at Rihanna's Loud Tour at the American Airlines Center on Friday night.
Fans said that a stunt involving pyrotechnics appears to have malfunctioned at around 10:45 p.m.
Video posted on YouTube shows flames apparently coming from a lighting grid, with smoke enveloping the area. A worker is then seen using an extinguisher to put out the fire.
Rihanna "ran off the stage," according to Elizabeth Teller, who attended the event.
No one was injured, but the concert — which was nearly complete — was canceled and the arena was evacuated.
Rihanna tweeted, "DALLAS!!! We set the stage on FYAH tonight!!! LITERALLY!!!" shortly after the incident.
The R&B recording artist added that she was glad that her fans were safe, and that she was attending a production meeting to determine what went wrong.
