PHOENIX – The AMC Esplanade 14 is celebrating its grand opening as a Dine-In Theatre and 100 people won big.
This giveaway was a movie fan’s delight and it went down Wednesday morning. The first 100 people in line dressed as their favorite movie star or celebrity are being treated to free movies for a year at AMC Esplanade 14.
Check-in started at 6 a.m., with the giveaway following at 8 a.m. Some people lined up as much as 12 hours ahead of check-in.
The first 100 guests who were dressed up won 24 tickets (two per month for 12 months) for free admission to AMC Esplanade 14, as well as 12 free appetizers (one per month for 12 months).
AMC Esplanade 14 has been closed to undergo the renovations necessary to turn it into a Dine-In Theatre.
There are nine Fork & Screen auditoriums that offer casual dining and comfortable seating, as well and five Cinema Suites that are designed for a more intimate and upscale dinner-and-a-movie experience.
Menus feature appetizers, entrees and desserts and well as beer, wine and cocktails.
While the Fork & Screen theaters will show family movies, teens will not be allowed in by themselves regardless of the movie rating. Anyone younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Cinema Suites are strictly for adults 21 and older.
Seating in the Fork & Screen theaters and the Cinema Suites is more limited than in a traditional theater so that movie-goers have more space. Because of that, reservations are required. Those can be made online or in person at the box office.
Tickets prices range from $6 to $15 plus the cost of food and drinks.
AMC Esplanade 14 is located at 2515 E. Camelback Road in Phoenix.
