PHOENIX -- Betty White is everywhere these days. Now America's sweetheart, who has long been an advocate for animal welfare, has come out with a new book -- "Betty and Friends: My Life at the Zoo."
She checked with live via satellite from New York to chat with Scott Pasmore about this passion project that was more than a decade in the making. "Betty and Friends" is described as a love letter to zoos and the animals in them.
"From giraffes to lizards to koalas, readers witness the majestic variety of animals through Betty's eyes, and in her own words," reads one book description.
Pasmore snuck in an invitation to dinner during the interview.
"Sure!" was White's answer. "Why not? Let's see what happens."
White’s new book "Betty and Friends: My Life at the Zoo," is available now in stores and online.
