LOS ANGELES (AP) — A judge says Casey Kasem should be fed, hydrated and medicated while a court-appointed attorney evaluates the health of the ailing radio personality.
Kasem, who has dementia, is in critical condition in a Washington hospital.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel S. Murphy ruled Monday that the 82-year-old Kasem should receive the treatments while an attorney appointed by the judge meets with Kasem and his doctors in Washington state.
Attorneys said medications, food and water had been discontinued over the weekend.
Murphy kept Kasem's daughter Kerri Kasem temporarily in charge of medical decisions involving her father.
She has been locked in a legal battle with her father's wife of 34 years, Jean Kasem, over care.
