PHOENIX -- As the country continues to come to grips with the Sandy Hook tragedy many are asking what we can do collectively to protect and provide our children with a safe learning environment.

Recently, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Phoenix Police Chief Daniel Garcia and 90 Phoenix police officers heard about a program 3TV brought to the Valley designed to create a culture of compassion and kindness in our schools.

The program, Rachel's Challenge, is based on the life of Rachel Scott, the first victim in the Columbine shootings.

After seeing the program at a recent conference, Chief Garcia wanted all of his officers to see the message for themselves.
