When you're ready for Italian food as you've probably never had it, drop by this rustically designed resort restaurant for a go at Chef Claudio Urciuoli's Coastal Italian Cuisine. As a native of Liguria and a member of the Slow Food Movement, Urciuoli keeps things simple, offering fresh, seasonal dishes made with the finest, most pristine ingredients he can forage. Many of his selections have a light, healthy quality that bears little resemblance to the heavy, marinara-sauced Italian food to which we've grown accustomed. Take the burrata, for example, a creamy cousin to mozzarella served with nothing but roasted tomato and crunchy crostini. His butcher boards, which feature salumi and cheeses with nuts, honey and fresh fruit, are models of delicious simplicity as well. Try the calamari in umido (a soupy appetizer of grilled calamari, Umbrian beans and purple onion), the fresh fish of the day and if you must have meat, the buttery rib eye, overlaid with arugula and Parmigiano-Reggiano. For dessert, there's light and lovely panna cotta as well as a wisp of chocolate-hazelnut crepe. In good weather, the lush patio overlooking the pool is the place to be. Breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. $-$$$$
