Everywhere I go, Christmas music is playing. But I don't mind at all. I don't know about you, but for me, holiday tunes just instantly put me in a good mood!
I don't know if it's the cheerful melodies or the familiar lyrics.. but I truly think there's something magical about Christmas music. I admit, I am now only listening to Christmas music in my car and at home. Even when I'm working out in the field and in a Channel 3 news vehicle, I insist on the holiday tunes. So I'm not only driving my husband nuts, but our photographers too who I'm working with! Making matters worse, I love to sing along (which is worse for everyone around me since I have a terrible voice).
But hey, the holidays only come around once a year. When else can you sing along with Burl Ives about having a "Holly Jolly Christmas" or dream of a "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby. You've gotta belt it out with Brenda Lee when "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" or when Gene Autry sings of "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer!" They are timeless songs shared between generations. So while some may complain and already be annoyed at the overplayed Christmas music... I say, play those holiday tunes! Tis the season afterall, right? Happy listening, happy singing, enjoy every minute of the holidays while they're here.
