WASHINGTON (AP) -- Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar says the National Park Service will waive entrance fees on Aug. 14 and 15 to encourage all Americans to visit national parks.
Salazar says the fee-free weekend, which includes the Grand Canyon, is designed so Americans can explore a nearby park they may have never visited before.
The waived entrance fees range from $3 to $25.
There are 391 national parks located across the country in 49 states, many of which will hold free events this weekend.
