GRAND CANYON, Ariz. -- The Grand Canyon’s North Rim is scheduled to open for visitors and campers next month, according to the National Park Service.
NPS announced in a statement that the Grand Canyon Lodge North Rim will open on Thursday, May 15.
The operations include lodging, groceries, camper services, food services and a service station, with concessioner service opening at 10 a.m. Lodge check-in begins at 4 p.m.
All services from NPS, including the visitor center and campgrounds, will open the same day starting at 8 a.m.
Concessioner services and ranger-led programs are scheduled to end Oct. 15, according to the NPS, with national parks programs ending Oct. 31. The North Rim will remain open for day use through Dec. 1.
The North Rim of the Grand Canyon is located at the southern end of the Kaibab Plateau. The drive from the South Rim is about 215 miles.
