Study: Flight delays to get worse as economy improves
The percentage of delayed U.S. flights has dipped recently with fewer planes flying due to the recession. But there's been a 20-year trend of increasing delays, and the increases should continue once the economy rebounds, a new study says. The average length of U.S. flight delays rose from 40.9 minutes in 1990 to 56.5 minutes in June 2009, according to the study by the Brookings Institution.
