AVONDALE -- A West Valley woman says she's less concerned about her stolen truck than about her dog, which was still inside.

Debbie Parmley says three men stole her 2004 Ford F-350 Monday afternoon. It happened at the Avondale Costco parking lot near 99th Avenue and McDowell Road.

Parmley's dog, Cyd, was in the back seat at the time.

Parmley says Cyd, a 12-year-old border collie has been depressed and lately because she lost her litter mate. Because of that, Cyd has become even closer to her human family. Parmley said Cyd has been her "shadow."

If you have any information about the truck or about Cyd, please contact the Avondale Police Department

The women with the stolen dog needs to contact Maricopa County Animal Control in case they pick up the dog. I would also go to Animal Control and go through all their cages daily in case the dog is there. Old, no collar, no tages they will put the dog to sleep after a few days.

This story has haunted me since it aired. But my feelings aside, two thoughts came to mind. One, is Cyd microchipped? Two, would it be possible for anyone who would know of Cyd's whereabouts to be able to bring her, no questions asked, to any police or fire station? Please tell the Parmely family they and their wonderful Miss Cyd are in my prayers.
