ARIZONA CITY, Ariz. (AP) -- Authorities are offering a reward for information about a dog that was found stabbed in Arizona City, just south of Casa Grande.
Pinal County Animal Care and Control officials said Monday that the black and white pit bull-mix was found tied to a tree surrounded by pools of blood on Feb. 26. It had been stabbed twice in the neck.
A knife also was found in the area.
The 5-month-old male dog survived and is now doing well.
Animal Care officials say the dog is very friendly and will be placed up for adoption if its owner isn't found.
The Central Arizona Animal Cruelty Task Force is offering a $250 reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction in the stabbing. Anyone with information is asked to call 520-866-7618.
