GLENDALE -- After losing their beloved dog to an attack by a pit bull last year Sally and Richard Andrade are pushing for a law that would require strict penalties for dog-on-dog attacks.
Right now, dogs and cats in Arizona are considered property, which means there's no repercussions for dog-on-dog attacks except for a leash-law violation for the dog's owner or perhaps a civil trial. Maricopa County Animal Care and Control can't really get involved unless a person is threatened.
