Henry is a real trooper and after living for months on the streets, this Australian Cattle dog mix arrived at the Arizona Humane Society with severe wounds on his face. He was rushed to our Second Chance Animal Hospital™ where his wounds were cleaned and bandaged up. From there, this brave two-year-old was sent to a foster home where his face healed completely.

Now he is ready to embrace the family life and surround himself with doggie lovers in his new home. Unlike his energetic cattle dog ancestors, Henry is rather mellow and easygoing, and he is always happy to spend the day lounging around on the couch and soaking up belly rubs. However, if he spots a leash in his human companion’s hands he will fly off the sofa with great enthusiasm, and eagerly bounce around the house anticipating his evening walk. Henry walks great on a leash!

Without exercise and activity Henry may take matters into his own paws and leap over the 6-foot-fence to explore the neighborhood on his own. Henry is a little shy around new people, and to ensure he is the perfect match, bring the whole family (including your canine friend) to the shelter to meet Henry.

He is available NOW at the Arizona Humane Society’s Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion located at 1521 West Dobbins Road in Phoenix. His adoption fee is only $110. This fee includes his neuter surgery, vaccines, a colorful collar and leash, an AHS I.D. tag, and a follow-up veterinary exam. For more information about Henry, please call (602) 997-7586 ext. 1045 and ask for animal ID number A278796 or log on to www.azhumane.org.

Please note: This pet might have been adopted by the time you visit the shelter; however, the AHS has dozens more wonderful pets that also need loving homes. Please take a moment to meet some of the other homeless dogs, cats and other companion animals at the shelter! To see all our adoptable animals right now, www.azhumane.org/findapet.
