Women & Young Women of Distinction Awards

An annual fundraising luncheon that honors women and young women, who demonstrate extraordinary powers of leadership in community service, and who represent the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

Why: To honor and recognize Girl Scout alumnae and current Girl Scouts who are making significant contributions to our society.

A Girl’s World Is Different

A Girl's World is Different (AGWID) is a premier one-day conference addressing the most important issues affecting the lives of Arizona's girls. AGWID is truly about collaboration, bringing together the best speakers, authors and subject-matter experts for a day of learning, networking and idea sharing.

What: A Girl’s World is Different Conference
Where: Desert Willow Conference Center
When: February 15, 2013
Why: This yea r’s multi-track conference will focus on education, relational aggression, human trafficking and how success in school, coupled with awareness of these three key issues, can keep more girls on a positive path to jobs, health, safety and success.

5K Thin Mint Sprint

What: 5K Thin Mint Sprint
Where: Reach 11 Sports Complex – Soccer Field 18 (Cave Creek and Pinnacle Peak)
When: March 9, 2013
Why: The 2013 event will feature activities and community partners that promote healthy living, sports and fitness. Save this date and join hundreds of Girl Scouts and their families enjoy the outdoors and spend a healthy day while raising funds for future Girl Scout programs.  If you enjoy running, walking or just meeting friends you will enjoy this event.

2012 Pearl Awards – Celebrating 100 Years of Volunteering

The Pearl Award is presented to Girl Scout volunteers whose actions directly support the council’s wide range of response team efforts to deliver service to girls and adults across our jurisdiction.

What: Pearl Awards
When: December 8, 2012
Where: Sheraton Phoenix Downtown
Why: Our volunteers are our precious and valuable pearls and they work hand-in-hand with us to ensure that girls succeed. They give countless hours developing, coordinating and assisting with girl program, serving on our product sales team, assisting with events, facilitating adult training, and serving as elders to support girls across our jurisdiction.

Gold Award Ceremony

The Prestigious Gold Award is the highest and single most demanding award that a Girl Scout can obtain. The leadership, determination, creativity and confidence a girl strengthens as a Girl Scout are necessary for the successful completion of her Gold Award Project. The Gold Award is a personal challenge requiring a girl to stretch her skills and step forward as a leader to meet a local or global need, and to create sustainable change.

Why: To witness and hear about the amazing accolades of these young women.
