If you are planning to spend time with Robert, be prepared to laugh!  Robert is quick, clever, witty and observant.  He has a wonderful sense of humor and a great appreciation for life.  Robert is also incredibly caring and interested in other people’s lives.  It’s not surprising then that he has many friends and no shortage of people to hang out with, or to text on his cell phone (which tends to accompany him everywhere). 

Robert is a self-identified realist.  He says that he knows his chances of being adopted are slim because, “he is a teenager and everyone wants to adopt the cute, little ones.”  But this does not stop Robert from trying because he knows a family is something he greatly desires.  Robert has had first-hand experience with some of the hardships of life and is very aware that it takes a conscious effort to pull oneself up after difficult times.  This is work he is very willing to put in.  Robert is a driven, ambitious, motivated individual.  He has lofty goals for his future and the determined will to achieve them.  Robert is very independent – he prides himself on being adept at taking the city bus anywhere he needs to go in the valley. 

Some of Robert’s academic strengths include research, computers, and debate.  When a topic seems interesting, Robert loves to jump on the internet and learn more!  He has a thirst for knowledge and discovery.  While he is a champion debater, perhaps one of his greatest accomplishments has been realizing that it’s okay if not everybody agrees with his opinion.  While Robert sometimes struggles in school, he is a self-starter and has enjoyed researching options such as on-line schooling.   

While he would someday like to attend college and start his own business, there is one thing that Robert wants in his life that he knows he can’t achieve on his own – a family.  Robert recognizes that the love and support of a family is something that can last forever, and he craves that long-lasting support.
