There are so many superlatives to describe Kody it's hard to focus on just one. He's friendly, funny, polite, caring and considerate, just to name a few. Hitting golf balls at Mini Golf Paradise in the North Valley was truly a pleasant day for Kody and everyone who got the chance to meet him.
Kody, who turns 14 this month, thinks adults are cool. He is very polite, well spoken and has no trouble conversing with people much older than he is. One of the first things he will tell you about is his love of video games. "These are my two favorites," he said as he pulled out his portable game player, "Harvest Moon and Dynasty Warrior; which one would you like to see?" Kody then proceeded to tell the finer points of the games down to the last detail.
"I really like video games because they keep me occupied and when I'm mad I can go play with them in my room and cool off," he said. "Me and my friends can also instant message with these game systems, too," he added. Kody is so enamored with video games he dreams of one day becoming a video game designer. "My grandmother says I have a mind for that," he said. Kody admitted a secret he thinks nobody knew until now; he stays up late at night and plays his video games under the covers. "One time I pulled an all-nighter because I lost track of time."
Kody breaks away from his video games to help volunteer at the humane society. "Mostly I clean up the kittens, play with the cats and give them names," he said. Kody really hopes to continue helping at the animal shelter if he should find a forever family to adopt him. He says he has loved animals since he had a very smart and over protective dog when he was very young.
Kody also expresses himself with his art. He does free forms of animals and super heroes from his favorite comic books. The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man dominate his creative imagination. Kody says he has also figured out a super secret about the next Incredible Hulk movie. "Do you know who will be in the third one? Iron Man! You could see the glow in his chest in the end," he exclaimed.
Kody says he has always loved Marvel Comics but never owned any. He is hoping to be able to buy one or two this summer.
Kody is also working on becoming an accomplished wrestler for his school. "I like doing it because of the sport and you have to remember to lots of things-like you can't put people into full nelson's, you can't use illegal moves and you always have to have short finger nails. I'm going to have to clip mine when I get home," he said.
Kody admitted that he's thought a lot about a forever family. "I'd really like a family that allows me to have a pet and a computer. I would hope they'd let me see my friends, let them come over and let me go to their homes and spend the night," he said. Kody would also like a family that has kids his age or older who would go to his wrestling meets, play games and be very active. He'd like to someday visit Disneyland with a family. Kody is a very giving young man who often cooks breakfast in bed for his current foster mother. He said he hopes that one of these days he can share that kind of love with a family that calls him a son.
