I just heard a fun statistic. That aside from Thanksgiving, the next biggest day for food consumption is the day of the biggest football game of the year! And it makes sense, because aside from the game, it's a great excuse to get together and EAT and DRINK.

I spent some time looking for the perfect Arizona Cardinals' fan drink and also the most talked about easy-to-make and inexpensive food options.

So, let's get ready to enjoy a great Sunday of football and food and fun and hopefully celebrate the Cardinals' win!

Super Bowl Party Drink Recipes

The Drink - A Great Strawberry Margarita We all know beer is absolutely required, but if you want to serve a signature drink - we just have to do a Strawberry Margarita - its Cardinal red and represents Arizona so well.

Here's a really wonderful recipe that's easy and inexpensive to make. It is delicious.

Strawberry Margarita 6 oz. tequila 2 oz. triple sec 1 cup of frozen strawberries in juice or with sugar (defrosted) 1/2 cup of frozen lime concentrate (defrosted)

Simply put all ingredients into a blender with some ice and blend until smooth. You can vary the slushiness by how much ice you toss in.

Pigs In a Blanket

This is a great twist on a classic. Try this variation and I think you'll be thrilled. The guys I tested it on LOVED it.

1 package of Lil' Smokies 1 can refrigerated Crescent Dough (it now comes in sheets, not just for rolls)

Simply lay out the sheet of dough, cut strips the width of the Smokies and just lay down a Smokie and wrap enough dough around to cover it and repeat.

Then just place on a baking sheet, and bake until golden brown at 350 degrees. Mine took 15 - 18 minutes.

Frozen Food Top Picks

Chicken Wings

If you don't feel like making your own try one of these. They're actually pretty darn good.

If you like the traditional spicy "red" wing try: Friday's Buffalo Wings.

For a sweeter, not-hot variety try: Tyson Anytizers Honey BBQ. (kids would love these!)

For a more sophisticated taste try: Trader Joe's Southwest Style BBQ Blue Cheese Chicken Wings

Pizza

If you want to save some money and still serve Pizza here are the brands that came up most often in most all of the taste tests that I researched.

For Cheese - Tombstone, Extra Cheesey - It's made with real cheese and the crust is thin and crisp! And it's really cheap to boot!

For Pepperoni - Red Baron, Classic Crust

Or as a variation, folks love the Stouffer's French Bread Pizza with Pepperoni.

For a fancier, more gourmet taste - California Pizza Kitchen's frozen BBQ Chicken Pizza.

Now that's an easy and affordable party that anyone would love. Just toss in the required beer, soda, dips and chips and everyone's happy. Oh and yes, a Cardinal win would top it off beautifully!
