Courtney Zubowski joined the 3TV news team in April 2005.

She comes to Phoenix from KFDM in Beaumont, Texas, where she anchored, "Live at Five." She also reported there, covering such stories as the space shuttle Columbia disaster and Tropical Storm Allison. She's proud to have been part of a newscast that won an Edward R. Murrow award and a National Headliner's award.

Zubowski, who grew up in Houston, graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in broadcast journalism.

Her first on-air experience was anchoring a newscast that aired in her high-school cafeteria. She later interned at KPRC in Houston and KTLA in Los Angeles before getting her first paying job reporting for a station in Palos Verdes, Calif.

When she's not working, Zubowski enjoys running, water-skiing, shopping and eating sushi.
