April Warnecke joined KTVK in July 2005 as part of The Forecasters, delivering weather reports on weekends and reporting during the week.

Warnecke grew up in Arizona and is very familiar with the excitement of the monsoons.

After graduating from Gilbert High School, Warnecke moved to Tucson to get her journalism degree from the University of Arizona.

After graduating, she spent four years in Medford, Ore., as an anchor, reporter and weather anchor. She stayed in the Northwest for a little while longer as a reporter in Spokane, Wash., before moving home to join Arizona's Family -- and her own.

Warnecke says she grew up watching Channel 3, and is thrilled to be back in the Valley.

In her spare time, April enjoys hiking, fishing, traveling and hanging out with her dog, a hound mix named Merton.
