Heather Moore

Anchor

3TV

Heather Moore

Heather Moore became part of Arizona's Family in October 2003 when she joined the anchor team for the weekend editions of "Good Morning Arizona." These days, Moore not only anchors news segments on "Good Evening Arizona," she also anchors 3TV's 8 p.m. show -- "The Newsroom @ 8" -- and "Fox 11 News at Nine" on KMSB, 3TV's sister station in Tucson. She's also the primary fill-in anchor for all of the evening and night shows. And if that's not enough, you can also catch Moore on "The Newsroom @ 10."

Moore said she received her calling at an early age. As the middle of five children, she always seemed to be nominated as the spokeswoman for the bunch.

Now, the stories she tells include jumping out of a plane with the Army's famous Golden Knights, riding in a B-25 bomber with a WWII pilot, flying with the Marines to the floor of the Grand Canyon to deliver toys to the Havasupai Indian children and the historic recall of California Gov. Gray Davis and subsequent election of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

A California native, Moore graduated with honors from the University of Southern California with a degree in broadcast journalism. She began her career in several Los Angeles newsrooms before taking her first job in Yuma at KYMA, where she anchored the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts.

Sacramento's powerhouse newsroom, KCRA, was where Moore spent the next two years before landing in the Valley of the Sun.

"I can honestly say there has never been a day where I don't look forward to coming in to work," Moore said, "but my real job is at home, where my three gorgeous, energetic kids keep me on my toes."

When there's time, Moore can be found hanging out at sporting events or exploring the Arizona landscape.
