He covers stories for both "Good Evening Arizona" and the "The News
Show." Come to think of it, he occasionally helps out with "Good Morning
Arizona" and "Good Day Arizona," too.
McGee was born in Vancouver, B.C., but grew up in Seattle. He started
his broadcasting career in Clarksburg, W.Va., where he was a reporter
for WDTV. He moved on to work as a reporter for WCIA in Decatur, Ill.,
before coming to NewsChannel 3 in 1999.
McGee graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a
bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism. While in Seattle, he
completed internships with the "Bill Nye the Science Guy" show and
KING-5 TV.
McGee is married and his first child, Jackson, arrived on Jan. 17, 2005.
Scott McGee is an Emmy award-winning journalist who started with
NewsChannel 3 in the Northern Arizona bureau. Having served almost two
years in the frigid grasp of the high country, McGee is now a full-time
reporter in Phoenix, and fills in on the anchor desk whenever he's
needed.
