Antwan Lewis

Reporter

3TV

Affectionately known in the 3TV newsroom as "Big Money," Antwan Lewis joined the News Channel 3 family in January 2003. Antwan spends Fridays reuniting Valley residents with money they never knew they had in the state treasury with his special weekly segment -- Free Money Friday. Don’t be surprised if you see him knocking at your door.

Before that, he spent seven years at WTKR in Norfolk, Va., where he started out as an intern and eventually worked his way up to reporter.

A self-described true-blue son of the South, Lewis was born in Suffolk, Va., and decided early on that he wanted to be a reporter. A frustrated elementary school teacher said to him one day, "Mr. Lewis, you ask so many questions. You should be a reporter on television." Just 8 years old at the time, Lewis replied, "OK," and has never looked back.

Antwan holds a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications from Norfolk State University and a master's in journalism from Virginia's Regent University.

When he's not out familiarizing himself with his new surroundings here in the Valley, Antwan can be found lifting weights or listening to and collecting old R&B music -- he is a huge Motown fan.

Antwan's favorite movies are "L.A. Confidential," "Goldfinger," "The Shawshank Redemption" and "Lady Sings the Blues." As viewers recently discovered, Antwan has a BIG weakness for Chips Ahoy! cookies and popcorn.

If you run into Big Money on the street, ask him about the "Commonwealth of Virginia Peanut Festival and then be prepared.

Antwan wishes he were a better basketball player and tries to read the Bible every day.
