Marty Velasco Hames currently anchors the "Good Day Arizona" newscast and reports medical/health stories on a regular basis. She joined KTVK NewsChannel 3 as a reporter trainee in September 1990.

Hames has experience as a reporter, anchor, producer, assignment editor and editor in radio as well as in television. She came from WCIX where she was a field producer and off-air reporter.

Hames graduated from the University of Georgia with bachelor's degrees in journalism and political science. She fluently speaks and reads Spanish.

Hames is also a wife and a mom.

When not reporting on new exercise trends, Hames is out there working out herself! She loves weight training, rock climbing, snow skiing, running, road biking and recently completed two triathlons.

"I regard my job as a gift to inspire others to cherish their health, and be the best they can be," Hames said.
